Queries

Overview

An important feature of the your laboratory data management system is its ability to query. Unlike data stored in lab books or spreadsheets, the data stored in your system can be easily found by specifying certain search constraints.

CELO supports two different querying methods: Simple queries and Advanced queries. Simple queries provide a very efficient method for finding items belonging to a particular Data Class. Users use a simple interface for specifying the query constraints. Advanced queries are much more powerful, but require some SQL (Structured Query Language) knowledge. Users who know how to construct SQL SELECT statements can make direct query statements to the underlying laboratory database.
