Biological Structure Macintosh Support
by Kraig Eno
I'm being funded by the department for departmental Macintosh support at
the level of one day (8 hours) per week. We are in the midst of defining
what types of support will be included, but anticipate it will be limited
to hardware and software installation and troubleshooting, and consulting
on issues such as training and backup strategies.
To contact me, send e-mail to kraig@u.washington.edu or call 5-2152. If you're
just looking for information on some specific task or program, you may be
able to find an answer below.
This is probably also an appropriate place to tell you that I'll be leaving
permanently to go back to the Ukraine in early 1996. So if there are any issues
you'd like my help with, now is the time to bring them up.
So you want to...
- purchase a Macintosh
- unpack your new Macintosh
- add new hardware to your Macintosh
- sign up for an account on a UW host computer
- back up your hard disk (good idea!)
- share an AppleTalk printer
