If you've got a new computer attached to the local ethernet network in the department of Biological Structure, you'll probably need an "IP number" for it. This is the unique number which distinguishes your computer from all the other millions of nodes on the Internet, and allows you to connect to those other computers using software like Telnet, Fetch, and Netscape. Within BioStructure, you should contact: Bill Barker wrb@biostr.washington.edu 543-7315 For those outside the department, talk to UW Network Operations at 543-5128.
