Scanner Contour Menu

The Contour menu lets the user manipulate the current radial contour. There are three basic operations available from this menu:

NEW CONTOUR
Create a new radial contour. After clicking here, you are prompted to enter the endpoints of the contour's long axis in the drawing area. The resulting contour will have the same number of radials as the current model. Depending on the settings on the Segmentation Options menu, Scanner may immediately begin applying model information and/or edge detection to begin searching for the shape boundary in the image. Once this search has been completed, the main Scanner menu will reappear. You can then edit the resulting contour by grabbing the ends of radials and dragging them.
LOAD CONTOUR
Load an existing radial contour. Clicking here brings up a file browser which lets you move through the directory hierarchy. Once you find the contour you want to load, click on its name to retrieve it.
SAVE CONTOUR
Save the current radial contour. Clicking here brings up a file browser which lets you move through the directory hierarchy. Use the browser to move to the directory where you would like to save the contour, then type in a name for the saved file. *** WARNING *** When you save a contour, Scanner does not check to see if a file already exists with the same name and will overwrite it if it does. (This should be fixed in the future.)
