Anatomy: Informatics Assignment 1. Read the following chapter and be prepared
to discuss in class 2. Provide written answers to the following questions, to be turned in prior to the Wed class, as per these instructions. All questions either refer to the FMA as observed in the FME, or the assigned chapter (above) on the FMA. What is an ontology? What is a taxonomy? What is the difference between a reference ontology and an application ontology? Which is the FMA, and why? Why is the preferred name of tissue "portion of tissue" rather than tissue? Specify the classes of each these respiratory system structures in the FMA: pharynx, right lung, inferior margin of right lung. Are they all anatomical structures? Explain why or why not. Is the surface of the right lung part of the right lung? Explain why or why not. Show an example where a figure in the text does not match what is seen in the FME. |
